Fleetwood Mac Announces Spring Tour

After months of speculation and many hints, Fleetwood Mac has officially announced that they will be touring together this spring.  “It’s the perfect time to go back out,” says Stevie Nicks to Rolling Stone.  “2013 is going to be the year of Fleetwood Mac.”

The group will kick off their tour in Columbus, OH on April 4th and wrap up the North American leg on June 12th in Detroit, MI with hopes of European and Australian tours to soon follow.  “If everything goes well we’ll be in Europe doing festivals this summer,” says Nicks. “Then we’ll actually tour Europe, which is different than just doing festivals. Then we might do fifteen or so shows in Australia.”

With no new album to promote, the set list for this tour promises to be built around Fleetwood Mac’s extensive catalog of hits.  “We always have to play ‘Dreams,’ ‘Rhiannon,’ ‘Don’t Stop,’ ‘Tusk,’ ‘Big Love,’ ‘Landslide’ and all our most famous songs,” explains Lindsey Buckingham. “When you’ve gone through all your must-do’s, that’s 75% of your potential setlist. I think with the other 25%, there are areas of our catalog that are more under-explored. Maybe we’ll play more songs from Tusk.”  However, there may also be a couple of new tunes to look forward to.  According to Nicks, she and Buckingham have been working on some new material.  “We actually have two new Fleetwood Mac songs that I cut with Lindsey two weeks ago, we might play,” says Nicks.  Fleetwood Mac will begin rehearsals on February 15th.
