Actors Charles Dutton, Aldis Hodge and Kathy Baker have joined the cast of the Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider, which is currently in production.

Dutton, known for roles in Longmire, Zero Hour and American Horror Story, has been cast as Chank Middleton, a longtime friend and assistant to Allman. Hodge will play the younger Middleton. Kathy Baker, who most recently appeared in Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks, will play the role of Allman’s mother.

The film, based on Allman’s autobiography My Cross to Bear, begins shooting later this month in Savannah, GA. It stars William Hurt in the older role of Allman, while Tyson Ritter will play the younger role. Brother Duane Allman will be played by Wyatt Russell. Other cast members include Eliza Dushku, Bradley Whitford, Joel David Moore, and Zoey Deutch.
