John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix to Appear on Postage Stamps

A list of subjects for postage stamps which will be issued by the U.S. Postal Service over the next two years has been released via The Washington Post.

Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix will both appear on stamps in 2014 as part of the “Music Icons” collection.

John Lennon’s name also appears on the list although a date has not been announced and the stamp has not yet been designed.

Other music icons who will appear on stamps over the coming years include Bill Monroe, Jim Morrison, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Tammy Wynette, “Fats” Waller, Freddie Fender, John Lennon, Roy Orbison, Sarah Vaughn and Willie Dixon.
