Mick Jagger Releases Two New Tracks

Days after his 74th birthday, Sir Mick Jagger has released two new solo tracks.

“I’m excited to be able to share some new solo music with you! I started writing these two songs a few weeks back and wanted to get them out to you straight away,” reads a statement from the Rolling Stones frontman.

Describing “Gotta Get a Grip,” Jagger says, “The message is despite all those things that are happening, you gotta get on with your own life, be yourself and attempt to create your own destiny.”

Of “England Lost,” he says, “It’s about the unknowability about where you are and the feeling of insecurity. That’s how I was feeling when I was writing. It’s obviously got a fair amount of humour because I dont like anything too on the nose but it;s also got a sense of vulnerability of where we are as a country.”

In other Rolling Stones news, the band will be working on a new album “very shortly,” according to Keith Richards. The release would mark the band’s first album of new material in over a decade.
