AC/DC Album Finished, but Malcolm Young in Hospital

AC_DC_logoAC/DC’s Malcolm Young is in hospital, bandmate Brian Johnson revealed in a new interview with Classic Rock Magazine.

Young’s health issues were revealed earlier this year, in a statement by the band, as they announced he would be taking a break from AC/DC to focus on getting better.

The band has been in the studio in Vancouver, Canada working on their new album – their first since 2008’s Black Ice.

“We miss Malcolm obviously,” Johnson said in the interview. “He’s a fighter. He’s in hospital but he’s a fighter. We’ve got our fingers crossed that he’ll get strong again.”

Young’s nephew, Stevie, has been filling in. Johnson said the younger Young has been “magnificent,” but admitted the recording process has been “difficult,” knowing Malcolm isn’t well.

An official release date for the album has not yet been set, however, Johnson revealed on his car-racing website last month that the band is likely to tour this year.
