Bob Seger Sets Release Date for New Album

Bob_Seger_2013Bob Seger will be releasing a new album this fall – the follow up to 2006′s Face The Promise. That makes Ride Out his first release of new material in eight years. The album, which comes just months before the rocker’s 70th birthday, will hit shelves on October 14th.

Ride Out features a cover of John Hiatt’s “Detroit Made” which was released to radio last week as well as a rendition of “California Stars” – originally by Wilco, Billy Bragg and Woody Guthrie.

The album’s title might just allude to Seger’s retirement. He told Billboard last year, “I wouldn’t mind putting out on more record, one last swan song.”

Seger is also reportedly planning a tour in support of the album, although details have not been announced.
