Bruce Springsteen Teams Up with Dropkick Murphys To Raise Money for Boston Bombing Victims

dropkick-springsteenBruce Springsteen has teamed up with Boston band Dropkick Murphys to record a new version of the band’s song “Rose Tattoo” to benefit victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Rose Tattoo” features Springsteen’s vocals and was released this week as part of a three song EP, which also features live acoustic versions of the songs “Jimmy Collin’s Wake” and “Don’t Tear Us Apart.”

All proceeds from sales of the EP will be disbursed by The Claddagh Fund, a charity run by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys.

“Bruce actually called us up the day of the bombing and asked what he could do to help,” said guitarist James Lynch. “We didn’t have to reach out. He was there for us.”
