Dave Mason To Kick Off ‘Traffic Jam’ Tour in New Year

dave-mason=traffic-jamRock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Traffic co-founding member is heading out on the road in the new year with a new project billed as Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam.    The tour begins January 3 in Atlantic City, NJ with dates through the rest of the year.

The iconic singer, songwriter and guitarist has been touring and recording regularly since he co-founded Traffic in 1966, after which he went on to a successful and acclaimed solo career as well as recording and/or touring with artists including Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Delaney & Bonnie, Graham Nash, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Fleetwood Mac and more.

The Traffic Jam concerts will feature hits and deep album cuts from 1967’s Mr Fantasy and 1968’s Traffic albums and additional Traffic jams plus new material and classic Dave Mason music.

In 2014, Mason will also release a new EP titled Futures Past, featuring new versions of his classic songs plus new material that he has written and performed on tour over the last few years.

Dave Mason and Traffic are renowned for such hits as “Feelin’ Alright” (covered by Joe Cocker) and “Hole In My Shoe” plus his solo signature tracks “We Just Disagree” and “Only You Know and I Know.”

“I think that it is important to keep alive the legacy of four young men from the heartland of England and their contribution to contemporary music,” he says.  “And ‘Traffic Jam’–aside from the obvious material–will hopefully grow into the basis for other artists to participate. Keep the spirit alive!”

While on the road, Mason is an avid reader.  “Right now, I’m reading the Prevost XL11 manual!,” he explains in his English wit, referring to the Prevost tour bus he’ll soon hit the highway in.
