Showtime Will Premiere BBC Bowie Doc August 1

david-bowie-five-years-showtimeU.S. network Showtime will premiere a BBC documentary special about David Bowie this Friday, August 1st.

David Bowie: Five Years reveals previously unseen footagae and items from Bowie’s personal archive of costumes, set designs, lyrics and memorabilia.

The five years of Bowie’s career that the film focuses on include 1971 – when Bowie’s character Ziggy Stardust was created, – 1977 – when the albums Low and Heroes were released, – and 1983 – when Bowie achieved commercial success with the release of ‘Let’s Dance’.

David Bowie: Five Years is produced by BBC Worldwide and created by Francis Whately (director of Soul Deep: The Story of Black Popular Music).

Tune in to Showtime at 9pm EST/PST on August 1st.
