Report: Tom Petty in Critical Condition Following Cardiac Arrest

UPDATE: A statement released by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ manager confirms that Tom Petty died Monday Oct 2nd at the age of 66.

 

Tom Petty was rushed to hospital Sunday night after being found unconscious and in full cardiac arrest, TMZ reports.

Law enforcement sources said that paramedics who arrived on the scene took the 66-year-old to UCLA Santa Monica hospital where he was put on life support.

TMZ has stated that they have been in touch with members of Petty’s team who are “clearly upset but not talking.”

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers have spent much of 2017 on tour in celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary. They wrapped up the most recent leg of the tour with three shows at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl last week.
