As Fleetwood Mac prepares for their fall tour, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie have picked up their creative relationship right where they left off, Buckingham told the LA Times last week.
“It’s better than ever,” the guitarist said, as they sat in the band’s West Los Angeles recording studio, listening to “Too Far Gone” – a new Fleetwood Mac tune the duo recently wrote.
“This was a great collaboration,” Buckingham continued. “I had a track without any singing on it, and she wrote the song over it.”
McVie retired from the band in 1998 when she developed a fear of flying. She’s been living in the English countryside, and although she’s continued writing, and even released a solo album in 2004, she opted not to join Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and her ex-husband John McVie when they hit the road in 2013.
But thanks to psychotherapy to conquer her flying fears, and a guest appearance with the band in London last September to sing her 1977 hit “Don’t Stop,” McVie announced her return to the band in January.
Fleetwood Mac will kick off their On With The Show tour on September 30th in Minneapolis. They’ll perform 30 shows throughout North America through December 2nd. Click here for a list of dates.
