Actor Tom Hardy has admitted that he’s been wearing Elton John’s clothes in order to get into character for the upcoming biopic Rocketman.

The film chronicles the singer’s rise to stardom and 36-year-old Tom Hardy, generally known for his darker roles (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy), will play the flamboyant part of Elton John.

“When I play a real person, I like to have bits of them. Since I can’t take physical body parts and sever those, I try and grab as much ‘kit’ off them as possible,” the British actor explained. “Then you can sell it on eBay,” he joked.

Elton John is executive producing the film and has described it as being more along the lines of Moulin Rouge! than of the biopics made in recent years such as Walk The Line or Ray. Filming is scheduled to begin later this year.
