Bruce Springsteen Headed for Broadway

Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen is headed for Broadway, according to a report from the New York Post.

According to the Post’s source, while dates have yet to be finalized, the Boss will likely begin a residency this November at the Walter Kerr Theatre where he’ll perform five times a week for an eight-week run. The show will be a pared-down version of a typical Bruce Springsteen show, generally performed in arenas and stadiums.

The Walter Kerr Theatre seats 975 people.

Perhaps Springsteen is taking a cue from Billy Joel, who has managed to bring the idea of a Vegas show to his home city with a monthly residency at Madison Square Garden. (Joel set a record for the most performances ever by an artist at MSG back in 2015).

Or, as some insiders believe, according to the Post, the Broadway gig might be “a curtain raiser to another project — turning his best-selling memoir, ‘Born To Run,’ into a musical.”

We’ll have to wait and see.
