Legendary guitarist David Gilmour is auctioning off more than 120 guitars from his personal collection to benefit charitable causes.

The sale will take place June 20th at Christie’s in New York City and marks the largest collection of guitars ever to be offered at auction.

“Many of the guitars in this sale are guitars that have given me a tune,” said the Pink Floyd guitarist in a short film about the collection (watch it below). “So a lot of them have earned their keep, you might say.”

Among the guitars included in the sale is “The Black Strat”, estimated at $100,000 – $150,000. The 1969 Black Fender Stratocaster was David Gilmour’s primary performance and recording guitar from 1970 to 1986 and was played on the Pink Floyd albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. It can be heard on Gilmour’s legendary guitar solo on “Comfortably Numb”.

Other guitars being offered include Gilmour’s 1954 White Fender Stratocaster #0001 played on “Another Brick In The Wall (Parts 2 and 3)” (estimated at $100,000-$150,000) and the 1955 Gibson Les Paul played on the “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)” solo (estimated at $30,000-$50,000).

A global tour of the collection will launch in London at Christie’s King Street (March 27th to 31st), where the full collection will be on display. Highlights will then go on view in Los Angeles (May 7th to 11th) and finally to New York (June 14th to 19th).
