Taron Egerton, star of the upcoming film Rocketman, gave an off-the-cuff performance of “Tiny Dancer” at an Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party this past weekend. The actor was accompanied by Elton John himself, who volunteered to join Egerton on stage for the unplanned rendition of the 1971 hit.

Elton John has hosted the post-Oscars viewing event every year since 1993 to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Egerton was on stage to showcase an auction item up for grabs – a trip to the London premiere of the film – when the performance broke out.
Rocketman hits theaters May 31st and is a self-described “musical fantasy,” rather than a biopic. It promises to give the “uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years.”
