Previously unseen photographs from the scene of Kurt Cobain’s death have been released by Seattle Police this week.
The announcement last month that the details of the case were being reviewed by a cold-case detective sparked reports that the case was being re-opened, however Seattle Police were quick to clarify that the case was only being reviewed in preparation for the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s death.
“I was requested to look at the case because I’m a cold case detective, because it is 20 years later, and it’s a high media case,” Detective Mike Ciesynski told television station KIRO. Police spokeswoman Renee Witt has said that nothing from the recently developed photographs has caused them to change their conclusion that the death was, in fact, a suicide.
Kurt Cobain was found dead in a greenhouse room above his garage on April 8th, 1994. A suicide note, pictured below in it’s original location, was found at the scene and traces drugs were found in Cobain’s bloodstream.
