Paul McCartney paid tribute to the people of Charleston during his performance in Columbia, South Carolina Thrusday night, dedicating his song “The Long and Winding Road” to the city and the victims of the shooting at Charleston’s historic Emanuel AME Church last week.

“This next song we would like to dedicate to all the people in Charleston,” McCartney told the crowd. “We show how solid we are with them after they’ve been through this tragedy. We pray that people of all colors will be able to live together in peace and harmony.”
