Ozzy Osbourne has been admitted to hospital following complications from the flu, according to a tweet from wife and manager Sharon Osbourne. The news comes a week after the Prince of Darkness announced he was postponing the first leg of his No More Tours 2 due to a severe upper respiratory infection.
“As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu,” reads Sharon’s tweet. “His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”
Though no statement has been posted on Osbourne’s website, Sharon’s tweet was re-tweeted from Ozzy’s official Twitter account.
“I’m completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour,” Osbourne said in a statement last week. “It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to shit.”
No word yet on if the former Black Sabbath singer will pick up his tour on March 9th in Australia as previously planned.
The postponed UK and European dates are to be rescheduled later this year.
No More Tours 2 is due to be Osbourne’s last tour, however he has made it clear that it marks the end of touring for him, not necessarily the end of live performances.
