Billy Joel set a record at Madison Square Garden this week, becoming the artist with the most performances ever at the New York city venue.

“I didn’t know I’d be here 65 times. Amazing,” said Joel to his audience. “I want to thank you very much for making this possible.”

The record was previously held by Elton John, who has performed at the venue 64 times. In a shout out to his friend, Joel performed Elton John’s hit, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”
