Buddy Guy has been consistently releasing records for more than five decades and it’s clear, with a new album due out this month, the guitar legend’s career is, like the Blues, well… alive and well.
The Blues is Alive and Well, Guy’s 18th solo album, features guest appearances by some big names: Jeff Beck and Keith Richards are featured on the track “Cognac” while Mick Jagger lends his voice to “You Did The Crime.” British artist James Bay guests on “Blue No More”.
In advance of the June 15th release, Guy also recently reunited with former late show host David Letterman, appearing on the May 4th episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. In the clip below, Guy discusses the history of the Southern blues. The episode, which also features Tina Fey, is streaming now on Netflix.
The Blues is Alive and Well is available now for pre-order on Amazon.com. Catch Guy on tour across North America this summer.
