The Eagles and Carole King will be among 6 honorees to receive the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors this coming December, it was announced Wednesday.
The Kennedy Center Honors are awarded annually for lifetime achievement in the performing arts.
“Quite simply, our Honorees represent the voices, soundtracks, and stories of our personal lives and memories,” said Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein in a statement.
Other honorees include filmmaker George Lucas, actress and singer Rita Moreno, conductor Seiji Ozawa, and Broadway star Cicely Tyson.
This year’s Gala will take place Sunday, December 6 and will be broadcast on CBS on Tuesday, December 29th at 9pm.
