Q104.3’s Jonathan Clarke, Bob Geldof, Paul Rappaport
CDJ’s Paul Rappaport fencing with Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden. At the time, he was rated #7 foil fencer in England. I held my own in epee (more of a dueling sword, pictured here), but when we fenced foil…I was swiss cheese.

Pink Floyd – after record company dinner. Aside from the band, the most important person in this photo is the man with the glasses, third in from the left. He is the late, Steve O’ Rourke – one of the greatest, and classiest managers of all time, and a true friend as well.
Mick Jagger solo album. Mick surrounded by some of the most famous and most powerful rock radio programmers of the day.
Woody and CDJ’s Paul Rappaport. ” We were buddies back in the day. A genuinely, great guy.”

“The late, legendary radio giant, Scott Muni from WNEW FM, explaining a few things to Mick. I love this photo–you can really feel the power and importance of both these gentlemen in this shot.”
Paul Rappaport: “The Pink Floyd airship. Proud to say it was my idea. I commissioned the famous Floyd album cover artist, Storm Thorgerson to design it. What a spectacle! It flew all over the United States and into Canada, giving fans rides and having radio stations broadcast live from the gondola! Needless to say, everyone knew that Pink Floyd was coming to town and had a new album–The Division Bell.”
CDJ’s Paul Rappaport as guest guitar player, on stage with Pink Floyd, London Arena 1989. It was a Christmas present from the band to me for all the work I’d done for them.
Thrill of a lifetime – Gilmour and I even traded licks! (PS. David has the biggest heart I’ve ever known in this business).

The Memory Motel in Montauk, Long Island (New York) was near the Church Estate that Andy Warhol bought in 1972. The Rolling Stones stayed at Warhol’s estate when they were on tour in 1975-1976 (they were good friends with Warhol, who designed the Sticky Fingers album cover). The Memory Motel was said to be the only place in the area with a pool table and a piano, and The Stones were purported to come by and hang out at the bar. The song “Memory Motel” was written during this period and appeared on the “Black and Blue” album
