Ringo Starr is celebrating his 77th birthday Friday by hosting his 10th annual ‘Peace & Love’ ceremony. The event will take place in more than a dozen cities worldwide while Starr himself will celebrate outside the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles, as he has done for the last three celebrations.
Starr will greet fans in person, offering the peace sign as well as the words “peace and love” at noon Pacific time.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday, or a better gift I could ask for, than Peace & Love,” reads a statement from Starr. “How great that this idea keeps growing and spreading. Thanks to everyone supporting it.”
The former Beatle also encourages fans around the world to give the “Peace and Love” greeting, wherever they are, at noon local time or on social media using the hashtag #PeaceAndLove.
