Paul McCartney ended the first leg of his Freshen Up tour on an epic note at Dodger Stadium Saturday night, welcoming fellow Beatle Ringo Starr on stage for two Fab Four classics.
“We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone. Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only Ringo Starr!” announced McCartney as the stadium erupted in applause.
After a quick embrace and a kiss on the forehead from Sir Paul, Starr took his place behind the drum kit.
“I love you man,” said McCartney before launching into “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter”.
Joe Walsh of the Eagles – and Starr’s brother-in-law – also joined McCartney on stage, trading guitar solos during “The End”, from the Beatles’ Abbey Road album.
