You may ever have heard their names but you’ve most certainly heard them play.
A new documentary film about the most successful back-up musicians in the business hits theaters June 29th. Hired Gun: Out of the Shadows, Into the Spotlight gives a behind-the-scenes look at the lives and careers of these touring and sessions musicians. The film is much in the same vein as 20 Feet from Stardom, the 2014 Oscar-winning film which put some of the industry’s most successful back-up singers into the spotlight, a place most of them aren’t accustomed to being.
Hired Gun will play in theaters across the U.S. for one night only. Tickets go on sale May 24 through Fathom Events.
Featured in the film are musicians such as Steve Lukather (Toto, Michael Jackson), Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), Phil X (Bon Jovi), Steve Vai (David Lee Roth), Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper), and more, as well as appearances by producer David Foster, Alice Cooper, and Rob Zombie, among others.
