New Black Sabbath Album Tops Charts in UK

sabbath-coverBlack Sabbath has their first number one album in the UK in nearly 43 years, a week after the release of 13.  The band also set a new official chart record – the biggest gap between number one albums.

Paranoid, which was released in 1970, was the band’s last number one album.

The record was previously held by Bob Dylan, who emerged in 2009 with Together Through Life, his first #1 album in 38 years.

Singer Ozzy Osbourne told OfficialCharts.com that he is “in shock” at the success of 13, saying the band has “never had a record climb the charts so fast before.”

13 is available now in stores, at amazon.com and on iTunes.
