One woman is dead and several people are injured after a train accident took place on the set of the Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider.
The accident happened Thursday afternoon while the film crew was shooting on location in Wayne County, GA. During a press briefing, Wayne County detective Joe Gardner confirmed that the crew had placed a mattress on the train tracks when the train struck. A young camera assistant, 27-year old Sarah Jones of Atlanta, was killed and 7 others were injured.
The crew was employed by Meddin Studios.
Midnight Rider is based on Allman’s autobiography My Cross to Bear and stars William Hurt and Tyson Ritter in the roles of an older and a youger Allman, respectively. Earlier this week, it was announced the Charles Dutton, Aldis Hodge and Kathy Baker had joined the cast.
The film just began shooting this week.
