Ozzy Osbourne Apologizes for Recent Drinking and Drug Use

Black Sabbath front man Ozzy Osbourne apologized on Facebook on Tuesday for his behavior over the last 18 months, admitting he had relapsed into binge drinking and drug use.

Ozzy’s comments were a response to media speculation that he and wife Sharon, who have been married for 30 years, had split up and were living separately.

“Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing,” Osbourne wrote. “I’m just trying to be a better person.”

He admitted to being in a “very dark place” over the last year and a half but says he has been sober for 44 days.

Ozzy has spoken outwardly over the years about his battle with drug and alcohol abuse and has had several stints in rehab.

“I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period … and my fans,” wrote Osbourne.

Black Sabbath will release their new album, 13, on June 11th. The album features original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler.
