UPDATE: According to Forbes, a spokesperson for Richard Branson has denied these claims, originally reported by the Mirror.

Robert Plant ripped up a contract worth $800 Million in front of stunned promoters, the Mirror reports.

The contract would have paid Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones roughly $300 M each for just 35 shows in three cities. The reunion was planned by Richard Branson – British tycoon and life-long fan – and apparently, the other band members were on board.

“They have tried to talk him round but there is no chance,” the Mirror’s source said of Plant. “His mind is made up and that’s that.”
