Paul McCartney has cancelled the Japan leg of his ‘Out There’ tour due to illness. The 71-year-old ex-Beatle came down with a virus last Friday, causing him to cancel his first show at Tokyo’s National Stadium.
“Along with the doctors, I’m doing all I can to ensure I will be better for tomorrow night’s show and the rest of my time in Japan,” read a statement from McCartney.
However, the rest of the tour has since been cancelled and fans are awaiting news of rescheduled shows.
“Thank you so much for your kind messages of support. I’m so very touched. Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight. I was really hoping that I’d be feeling better today. I’m so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down,” reads a statement on McCartney’s website.
The tour is scheduled to pick back up again on June 14th in Lubbock, TX with a total of 19 US dates through August 14th.
Last week, McCartney released a new video for his song “Appreciate.” Watch it below.
