The Rolling Stones played a surprise show at a Los Angeles club this past Saturday night, less than a week before the kick-off of their 50th anniversary tour. Tickets for the show went on sale just hours before the The Stones hit the stage at Echoplex, a 700-capacity venue in the Echo Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles. Hundreds of fans lined up on Saturday afternoon at the El Ray Theater, on the other side of the city, to get tickets for just $20 a piece.
The show lasted 90 minutes and included a mix of Stones classics as well as cover tunes.
The Rolling Stones’ 50 and Counting tour kicks off this Friday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
