Earlier this month, when Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler revealed that he would be releasing a solo country album, the word on the street was that Tyler would be releasing the album on Nashville label, Big Machine Records – best known for country acts such as Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Rascal Flatts.

This week it was revealed that Tyler has in fact signed a deal with Dot Records – a  historic Nashville label that was active from 1950 to 1977 and was reactivated in 2014 as a joint venture between Big Machine Label Group and Republic Records (Universal Music Group).

In its early days, Dot Records was home to artists such as Pat Boone, The Andrews Sisters, Count Basie, Barbara Mandrell, Leonard Nimoy and Liberace, among many others.

No official announcement has been made regarding a release date for Tyler’s album, but Forbes reports that it could come as early as later this year.

Recently, Aerosmith announced a tour for Summer 2015 that will see the band performing in 15 cities across North America. Their most recent album, Music From Another Dimension!, was released in November 2012.
