Alice Cooper may have just released his latest album Paranormal last week but the shock rocker is already talking about plans for the Hollywood Vampires in 2018, according to a recent interview with WROR.
The supergroup, which consists of Cooper, Aerosmith‘s Joe Perry and actor Johnny Depp, released their first album in 2015. Its track list includes two original tunes plus covers of classic rock songs by the Doors, Led Zeppelin and The Who, among others. Paul McCartney, Slash, Brian Johnson, Joe Walsh and Dave Grohl all made guest appearances on the album. And while the Vampires toured the album in 2016, they are currently focused on their own careers.
Cooper is touring in support of Paranormal beginning August 12th along with Deep Purple (click here for a list of dates). Joe Perry is focused on Aerosmith and Johnny Depp has five movies in the works this year.
But the Vampires will be “going out in 2018,” Cooper told WROR , and also revealed the next album will be all originals.
The Hollywood Vampires derived its name from a famous drinking club formed during the 70s at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood.
“I would walk in on a typical night, and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon – who would usually be in a costume like a maid or a chauffer – Bernie Taupin and Mickey Dolenz would be there,” Alice Cooper explained in 2015.
And the name listed as Club President on a plaque that hangs on the wall of the Rainbow Bar and Grill? That would be Alice Cooper.
