Listen to an Unreleased Version of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’

On June 3rd, Led Zeppelin will release re-issues of their first three albums in remastered sets including deluxe and super deluxe editions which feature alternate mixes and previously unreleased tracks.

One of those tracks is “Whole Lotta Love”, which you can hear below:

“This version of ‘Whole Lotta Love’ is the mix down from the night that we recorded it,” explains Jimmy Page. “So it doesn’t have any of the overdubs that everyone will be familiar with, because when they hear this they’ll think, ‘Oh yeah, that’s the original’ and all of a sudden they’ll go ‘No, it’s not.’”

Watch the video trailer for Led Zeppelin II (Deluxe Edition) here.

“You can see how songs grow,” says Robert Plant of ‘Whole Lotta Love’. “There must have been five or six other takes of that, which are not present. So the shaping of these things is very interesting and you can hear with this particular version that we haven’t quite reached the point yet, and that it’s very, very close.”

Get this song as an instant download now by heading over to iTunes and pre-ordering the deluxe edition of Led Zeppelin II.
