Kiss has canceled their upcoming Las Vegas residency, according to a report from The Las Vegas Review-Journal. Although ticket holders received notice of the cancelation via email and Ticketmaster has the shows marked as “canceled”, the band has not yet commented on the matter. The Vegas residency was scheduled to run December 29th through February 5th at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood.

The cancellation comes weeks after the death of Kiss’ longtime guitar tech Fran Stueber, who passed away two days after testing positive for Covid-19. The 53-year-old was on the band’s End of the Road tour and was quarantining in a hotel at the time of his death. Kiss members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley have both also tested positive for the virus while touring.

A Rolling Stone article published just before the Vegas cancellation criticized the band and their production team for a lack of safety protocols on the tour. However, soft ticket sales, not Covid-19 related matters, were cited by the Review-Journal as the reason for the cancellation.

Kiss are currently on their Caribbean “Kiss Kruise” and are scheduled to tour Australia, South America and Europe in 2022.
