In August,TMZ reported that Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer was requiring heart surgery after suffering heart issues in the past. The news came shortly after the band cancelled a California tour date due to “an illness” in the band. But Aerosmith chose not to reveal the details of the situation.
Now, Kramer is finally opened up about the condition on The Eddie Trunk Podcast.
But while the drummer confirms he did have an angioplasty with two stents inserted, he says he has had no heart issues in the past.
“The likes of TMZ and some other [media] out there said that I had previous problems, that I had existing heart problems from the past and it was something that I always had, which was just completely not true,” Kramer said.
Kramer was only off for 1 week before getting back on the road with Aerosmith.
“It wasn’t my time. It wasn’t time for my ticket to be punched. And so I got fixed, and I’m back 150 percent, and everything is as good as it can possibly be,” said Kramer.
