As states begin to ease coronavirus lockdown measures, there may be signs of a light at the end of the tunnel for concert goers. Billy Joel has announced rescheduled dates for six shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden that were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The original and rescheduled dates are listed below.

Joel’s June, July and August shows were only postponed as of this week.

While it may be hard to imagine packing 20,000 people into an arena as early as September, it’s possible live shows will begin to go ahead in the coming months with certain measures in place to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

Rolling Stone reports that Bishop Gunn’s Travis McCready will perform at a theater in Arkansas on May 15th with a number of measures in place to keep attendees safe. In addition to temperature checks and one-way walkways through the venue, the tickets have been limited to just 229, despite the theater’s 1,100 capacity.

Those who have purchased tickets for Billy Joel’s rescheduled dates can contact Ticketmaster to request a refund for these shows for a window of 30 days, otherwise, tickets will automatically be transferred to the rescheduled date.

Meanwhile, fans across the country can catch The Piano Man perform during the Rise Up New York! benefit show taking place on Monday, May 11th.

Billy Joel’s residency at Madison Square Garden has been running monthly since 2014. He has performed at the venue more times than any other artist in history.
