Bruce Springsteen Performs “American Skin (41 Shots)” for ‘Justice for Trayvon Martin’

During a concert in Limerick, Ireland last night, Bruce Springsteen performed his song “American Skin (41 Shots)” and dedicated it to justice for Trayvon Martin, the African American Florida teenager who was shot and killed on February 26, 2012, and whose shooter, George Zimmerman, was found not guilty last week.

Springsteen premiered “American Skin (41 Shots)” in 2000 after the shooting of Amadou Diallo by four plainclothes NYC police officers in 1999.

The lyrics to the song remain as relevant now as they did a decade and a half ago.
