The Pink Floyd guitarist disclosed the title and a few other details about the album during an interview at the Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas in Ireland. Gilmour’s wife and lyricist, Polly Sampson, was also part of the hosted discussion.
Sampson revealed the theme of the album’s lyrics, which is “Carpe Diem, seize every moment, look to the future, Just Do It and don’t be afraid or hold back.”
Although a release date has not yet been revealed, Gilmour will do a European tour later this year and the album release may coincide with that.
Rattle That Lock will be Gilmour’s first album since 2006’s On An Island.
