HBO has picked up the as-yet-untitled rock drama penned by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) and executive produced by Mick Jagger.
The show, set in the 1970s explores the sex, drugs and rock and roll of the music business during that era. The story is told from the perspective of a record exec attempting to find the next big thing as the punk and disco eras were breaking out.
Bobby Cannavale (also of Boardwalk Empire) stars as Richie – president of American Century Records. Olivia Wilde plays the lead character’s wife while Ray Romano plays one of his business partners.
Martin Scorsese directed the pilot for the show.
No air date has been set.
