Heart have announced that their new album will be released July 8th on Concord Records. Beautiful Broken is the band’s 16th studio album and their first in four years. It features several brand new songs as well as new takes on a few favorites from the band’s catalog including “City’s Burning,” “Down on Me,” and “Sweet Darlin'”.

The title track also serves as the album’s first single and features Metallica’s James Hetfield on vocals, along with Ann Wilson. Originally released as a bonus track on Fanatic, this new version of the song “blows the previous version out of the water,” according to Nancy Wilson.

“There is really a seventies feel to this record both in the sound, and the way we got to the emotional core of each song,” says Nancy Wilson. “We picked songs that we always wanted to re-do, plus we’ve added three new tracks. On both new and old, we have the band playing together the way we used to. This is classic Heart.”
