Watch Judas Priest Guitarist Glenn Tipton Re-Join Bandmates on Stage

Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton took the stage with his bandmates on Saturday night (April 28th) for their encore at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX. He performed three songs with the band – “Metal Gods”, “Breaking The Law” and “Living After Midnight”. Check out the fan-filmed footage below.

Tipton revealed in February that had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and on March 14th posted a message on the band’s website announcing that he would not be touring with the group.

Judas Priest in currently on the road in support of their most recent album Firepower which was released on March 9, 2018 and has become one of the most successful of the band’s career – rocketing to the Top-5 in 17 countries, including their highest chart placement ever in the US. The album’s single “Lightening Strike” is their highest charting commercial rock radio single in decades.

Tipton has performed on every Judas Priest LP since their debut in 1974, including Firepower but the guitarist can no longer handle the rigors of touring. Firepower album producer Andy Sneap is filling in for Tipton for their current tour – which launched on March 13 and will wrap May 1st in San Antonio, TX. The band will also be heading out this summer for a co-headlining tour with Deep Purple.

When asked if he is planning on any more live appearances with the band even if he can’t tour, Tipton replied, “I think so, yeah. As long as I’m capable of going on stage and doing my parts and doing it well. I love it — I love to be on stage with Priest and I’ll do it for as long as I can.”
