Owner of the legendary Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, CA, Tom Skeeter, has died. The news was announced Saturday via the studio’s Facebook page.
“We lost our main man, Tommy Skeeter this week,” reads the post. “Grateful our Sound City Movie pals for introducing him to all of you. Thank you to all of the people who have stopped by the office to meet Tom in the past few years– he enjoyed the visits, and loved hearing how far people had come.”
Skeeter and Sound City Studios were the subject of a documentary film in 2013 created by Foo Fighters drummer Dave Grohl. The studio was co-founded by Skeeter and Joe Gottfried in 1969.
