NBC Frustrates Fans By Cutting Closing Ceremonies Short

Many music fans were embittered last night when NBC decided to pare down their coverage of the 2012 Olympics closing ceremonies.  Though they dedicated 2 and a half hours of airtime to the show, NBC ended up cutting some of the most anticipated performances, while leaving some of the more disappointing one in.  Kinks frontman Ray Davies’ rendition of “Waterloo Sunset” was bumped as were performances alt-rockers Muse and Kate Bush along with The Who’s four song mini-set.  The Who’s performance was then aired after midnight as part of a separate show…much to the displeasure of the fans.
