Aerosmith has revealed that their upcoming new album, Music From Another Dimension will feature appearances from several different guest musicians including Julian Lennon and Johnny Depp. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Steven Tyler said that Lennon provided the harmony vocals for a “Beatleseque” track called “Love Three Times a Day”. “He’s such a sweet f*cking guy,” Tyler said. “And he’s John’s first son with that voice and sense of humor – gimme a break!”
Johnny Depp has also apparently contributed vocals to the album, singing back-up on the song “Freedom Fighter”. However, guitarist Joe Perry has acknowledged that the politically charged song may not make it on the album but may be included later deluxe release of the album or in an outtake. Meanwhile, ex-Aerosmith guitarist Ruck Dufay has joined with his former bandmates for one track – a cover of The Temptation’s 1975 hit single “Shakey Ground”.
The bad boys from Boston have recruited another, unexpected artist for the new album. Country superstar and American Idol winner (season 4) Carrie Underwood has joined voices with Tyler for a duet. Perry admitted that at first he was skeptical of Underwood but has since changed his tune. “Their voices matched up really well. It doesn’t sound forced. It was just right.” Tyler also tapped another American Idol source for vocals on the album. Season 10 contestant Lauren Alaina revealed back in March that she had cut backing vocals for one of the tracks.
Music From Another Dimension will hit shelves on November 6th.
