Nick Mason Talks Pink Floyd Past & Future

pinkfloyd-endless-river-coverIn a new interview with Sound Opinions, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason talks about the band’s history, their latest, and possibly final album, The Endless River, and the unlikelihood that we’ll see any more albums like it, in the future.

The Endless River came about from extra material from 1994’s Division Bell sessions. The Division Bell was originally intended as a double album, but when a touring deadline loomed, the extra material was cut and eventually went on to become the foundation for The Endless River.

But The Division Bell was an exception, says Mason, and there isn’t much else material from the band that hasn’t been released.

“I think in previous eras we were very specific. Once we were in the studios, we sort of tended to know what we were doing. So there weren’t many discards.”
