Queen’s 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert Will Stream Online to Raise Money for COVID-19 Relief

Queen’s 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness will stream on the band’s YouTube page Friday, May 15th to raise money for the World Health Organization and its COVID-10 relief efforts.

The concert, which took place at London’s Wembley Stadium on April 20, 1992 featured surviving Queen members Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon performing along with artists including Robert Plant, David Bowie, Elton John, George Michael, Tony Iommi and Axl Rose, among others. Metallica, U2, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses and Spinal Tap also performed during the benefit show.

The concert will premiere at 2pm ET on Friday and will be available for 48 hours only.  Watch it at the link below.

For every dollar donated during the streaming event, YouTube’s parent company Google will match with a $2 donation, up to $5M.
