Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and Bee Gees co-founder Barry Gibb will both be knighted as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s annual New Year Honours list.

The annual list recognizes achievements of extraordinary people including athletes, politicians, academics and more. Knighthood represents the highest honor.

Ringo Starr was previously recognized with an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 1965 along with the rest of the Beatles. He is 2nd member of the group to receive Knighthood, with Paul McCartney receiving the honor in 1997.
