The Who Postpone North American Tour Dates

the-who-hits-50-tourThe Who have confirmed that they are postponing all remaining dates on their “THE WHO HITS 50!” North American tour.  The band had initially postponed four shows on doctors orders after Roger Daltrey contracted a mystery virus.

Although it was initially hoped that the rest of the tour might proceed, Daltrey has since been diagnosed with viral Meningitis and prescribed a period of rest.

The band apologized to fans in an official statement released Thursday, saying it was not a decision that was taken lightly.

“I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better but I am going to need a considerable time to recover,” explained Daltrey, who has spent the last month in and out of hospital. ” The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery, but that I should not do any touring this year.”

The postponed shows, which include dates originally set for September 14 through December 13, will be rescheduled for 2016. Tickets for the original dates will be honored for the new shows, which are expected to be announced soon.
