Tommy Ramone (Tommy Erdelyi), the last surviving original member of punk rock band The Ramones, has died at the age of 62.
Tommy passed away Friday at his home in Queens. He had previously been receiving hospice care for bile duct cancer.
One of the founding members of the Ramones, Tommy played on the band’s first three studio albums before leaving the drum set in 1978. He continued to produce for The Ramones and other acts, and in his later years continued to perform.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
